Why are Stand-Up Paddleboards all the rage? Because they're ridiculously fun--like walking on water. We made a lot of believers out of folks who tried out our new Kaholo SUP kit in Newport Beach, Sacramento, and Port Townsend during our West Coast tour. It's taken 18 months and more prototypes than we care to count to refine the Kaholo SUP. Working with surfing and paddleboard guru Larry Froley of Gray Whale Trading in California, we've created a board with that rare quality of being fast enough to race but stable enough for first-timers. Tracking is great and a fine bow with kayak-derived shaping lifts the Kaholo up and over waves. The tail shape and twin fins facilitate surfing once your skills build up to that. It's also a major workout---every muscle in your body is at work as you ride over waves and work the long-handled SUP paddle. If taking a walk is healthy, taking a walk on water is healthy AND the view is better. Used by Lifeguards or race them competitively, and in recent years paddleboard designs have evolved specifically for racing and exercise. The San O' was developed by resident CLC surfer-dudes Stewart May and Ed Wigglesworth in concert with California paddleboard guru Larry Froley, who tested the prototypes and production models extensively in races. The San O' has been so
successful that 2006 brings the San O' 14, which fits in the 14-foot paddleboard racing class and is as fast as any of the exotic custom boards.

You can design your surfboard or just choose from our standard design. We use redwood and other exotic woods to complement the performance of the ride. The boards are of hollow construction, so you can have a light weight but durable board for years. The wood carries more momentum and energy down a wave then a foam board. Wood Surfboards will endure a lot of pain when a fiberglass board will typically break.
We are presently working on a Fish style and a Stand-Up Surfboard. Price range will be simular to the pricing below.

Has strong tracking keel allowing you to alter your course quickly, cut fast, perform crisp and graceful turns. Cockpits are 38 inches long, for easy in and out, and your legs and knees will not be confined with the emphasis on comfort paddle well! The Sport
Is 15'6" long and features a pleasing shape, attractive from every angle, with a unique contrasting deck made out of Sapele plywood. The Sea Island's roomy cockpit will fit almost anyone under 275 pounds. Any water that comes in will drain right back out through the bottom of the boat. Nothing confines the paddler. You don’t eed to worry about your shoe size, and the “height at knees” measurement is infinite. The boat is easy to get into, and for fishermen, stability is sufficient to drop the paddle and reel in a big striper. Large hatches for bow and stern are standard in the kit, and will absorb fishing gear and lunch for a day’s outing, or camping gear for a week. Adjustable footbraces are standard, as is a comfortable seat and a fully adjustable back band for high lumbar support. The Sea Island Sport is 27 inches wide. Thanks to the sponson keel, tracking is very strong and many paddlers will use the Sea Island Sport in the surf. The stability and self-draining cockpit makes beach launches and landings safer and easier than in a traditional kayak. Weight 48 lbs
